FEATURED ARTIST: Ry Cooder
Serving as a sessions musician then branching out on a solo career, virtuoso guitarist Ry Cooder dabbles in rock, blues, country, raggae, folk and gospel. Born in Los Angeles in 1947, he graced the recordings of Taj Mahal, Captain Beefheart, Randy Newman, Little Feat, Van Dyke Parks, the Rolling Stones (Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers), and Gordon Lightfoot. In 1992, Cooder joined Jim Keltner, John Hiatt, and Nick Lowe to form Little Village, which recorded one album. Ry has released at least a score of album beginning with 1970's self titled compostion. A few of his well deserved appellations are "The Musician's Musician." "The Master of the Eclectic." "King of the Slide Guitar."
