Born in 1967 in Manhattan and growing up in West Los Angeles, Gillian Welch's music centers on Americana, Bluegrass and alternative Country. After meeting David Rawlings while attending the Berklee School of Music in Boston, MA, the two formed a duo and began performing regularly throughout the country.
