In his early 20's, Dave Van Ronk moved to Greenwich Village from Brooklyn. He died in New York City in Feb 2002 leaving a lasting impression on the folk music scene. He was an expert finger pickin' guitarist with a naturally rough voice. His music style encompassed not only folk and blues but also americana and jazz. The singer/songwriter introduced young musicians to the New York City club circuit in the early 1960's, most notably, Joni Mitchell, Tom Paxton and Bob Dylan.
