The Midwest's hard rock quintet, Head East, consisted of John Schlitt (vocals), Mike Somerville (guitar), Roger Boyd (keyboards), Dan Birney (bass), and Steve Huston (drums), all alumni of the University of Illinois. They were essentially a late 70’s rock band with cult status and mild success. They released five studio albums and one live record.
