FEATURED ARTIST: Lyle Lovett
Mixing folk and country music with traditional pop, Lyle Lovett came up with a unique sound in a vast field of 1980 singer songwriters. The Texas native began his music career while in college playing at coffeehouses and local folk festivals. He released his first album in 1986, moved to California in the early 90's and became the first Mr. Julia Roberts in 1993 (divorcing two years later). He released seven studio albums and is due for another one soon.

May 1st or May Day, is a celebration of Spring originating in Rome as a fertility festival to honor the goddess Flora. It's a saint's feast day and a day for organized labor. In many countries, it is a national holiday. So I would be remiss by not playing a song or three to honor the day.
