Elliott Smith began his career in Heatmiser. He and Neil Gust were the main songwriters for the group from Portland, OR that formed in 1992. They only release three albums in a span of four year and the first two were nondescript, average rock songs. So, in this set we will hear tunes from the first two albums then a few from the last one. There is a noticeable difference in the musical direction and the quality of the writing.
