FEATURED ARTIST: Robinella & the CC String Band
This Knoxville, TN bluegrass band formed in 1997 when mandolinist Cruz Contreras met singer/guitarist Robin Ella Tipton at the University of Tennessee. A few years later they married, reconfigured the group and began touring the nation behind country act Kasey Chambers. Today, Robinella has more of a jazzy country blues/pop sound. They claim four CDs and one EP to their credit.
