In the glory days of the 1960's psychedelic era Jefferson Airplane ruled the acid music scene. Raising from the center of that decade's counterculture movement in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, the group sang songs dealing with youth, revolution and drugs. Elements of rock, folk and alternative country can be heard in much of the Airplane's music. In their tumultuous eight year existence they released nine albums including two live ones.
