THEME: Best Albums of '07

Welcome to the top 30 countdown of my picks for the best albums of 2007. My musical taste diverge in no particular order to roots, rock, raggae, folk, alt country, psychedelic folk, bluegrass, pop, punk, Celtic, blues, etc. My criteria for rating recordings are quite simple. An album must have at least two very high quality songs in the collection to even be considered for inclusion. All CDs had to be over 20 minutes long. And, no compilations or best of albums were taken into account. This list was compiled from over 350 CDs reviewed over the past 12 months. As with last year, for some reason WMUH didn't receive every album released during the year. So albums from the likes of Linda Thompson, John Fogerty, Joan Osborne, or Maria McKee couldn't be reviewed and so were not considered for this list. Also, no CD I listened to in 2007 achieved a five star rating. Some were close but nothing matched the best of The Pretenders, Lou Reed or John Lennon from the glorious past.
