Xiu Xiu is a decidedly modern rock band consisting of songwriter Jamie Stewart, Caralee McElroy, Cory McCullough and a changing succession of various musicians for each new album. The unique sound has elements of glam, art and folk rock mixed in with alternative synthesizer pop and punk music plus some obligatory noise. The Oakland, California group tours globally appearing at Krakow, Poland's Unsound Festival this weekend. Xiu Xiu has released six full length studio CDs since 2002.
