FEATURED ARTIST: The Pogues
Punk and traditional Irish folk music came together in 1982 when The Pogues formed in London England. Led by Shane MacGowan, whose slurred vocals and drunken antics would eventually erupt into his ouster from the band in the early 90's. After his departure the group stuggled on recording two mediocre albums before finally calling it quits in 1996. The Pogues released seven studio albums in their 14 year existence.
