With Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson in Fairport Convention, the listener can relish the musical heights achieved by few other psychedelic folk bands. Their offering of traditional and original British folk music propelled the generations-old genre into greater public awareness thus continuing its popularity. They were also one of the originators of electric folk musicality. While this segment concentrates on their early line up, Fairport Convention has released dozens of albums, employed many influential musicians and still tours after more than forty years as a group.
