Over 40 years of performing, writing original tunes and adapting traditional songs can have a profound effect on the listening public. Case in point, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, founded in Long Beach, CA circa 1966, with its mix of country, bluegrass, folk and rock music has had a subtitle influence on contemporary musicians throughout the past few decades.
