FEATURED ARTIST: John Cale
Best known as a founding member of the Velvet Underground, John Cale had a long, successful solo career after he left that band due to creative differences with Lou Reed. The multi-instrumentalist Cale experimented with various sounds and noise on every recording, yet he still has a decidedly pop rock flavor. He was born in Garnant, Wales, United Kingdom in 1942 where he studied music at various colleges until he moved to America in the early 60's. John Cale has released over 30 albums since leaving the Velvet Underground.
