FEATURED ARTIST: Harry Nilsson
Out of all the fateful episodes Harry Nilsson was associated with in his short 53 years of life such as introducing the world to Randy Newman, John Lennon's lost weekend, movie soundtrack writer, his legacy remains his musical genius. Few artists could snap off such hooky, compact, genre-jumping pop tunes like Nilsson. Even today, over 40 years after writing these songs, much of his music is relevant and interesting to first time listeners. He embraces songs of love and heartache transcending the temporal and trendy. Harry Nilsson released 16 studio albums from 1966 to 1980. An album with completed vocal tracks that he was working on at the time of his death is still unreleased.
